Munich Nostalgic

The Munich Nostalgic is one of my favourite MCM bag for the Spring-Summer 11 so I am really pleased to be able to share what inspired it with you.
The Munich Nostalgic Feminine Messenger has a multilayered inspiration - fading memories, urban myths and of course expression through prints and what they evoke. Because 2011 marks MCM's 35th Anniversary, it was also a good time to look back on our heritage: German culture, but more precisely Munich-ness. This bag is the result of a clash of the centuries, a mix of old and new traditions.
The fabric is influenced by vintage textiles that have been worn through time and show their history. They carry a sentimentality that new fabrics don't. The floral jacquard was embellished with the MCM signature and then heavily washed to create a vintage look and feel. The floral motif was inspired by Bavarian Porcelain. Pops of neon and plexiglas accessories give the bag a final contemporary and trendy touch.
