Munich is the capital city of Bavaria, and birthplace of MCM. It is located on the river Isar, north of the Bavarian Alps, in Germany. The city's motto is "Munchen mag Dich" which means "Munich Loves You". The city is also the home of the world famous Oktoberfest - a tradition started in 1810 to celebrate the wedding of Prince Ludwig to Princess Therese von Sachsen-Hildburghausen.

Charles of Bavaria. In 2008 the 35.56 carat Wittelsbach Diamond sold for
the highest price ever paid at auction for a diamond.
