Last week I introduced you to the bloggers involved in this year's "makeover" project... Well it is time for you to learn more about all of them, starting with... er.... ME! If you've been reading this blog for a while, you may already know a little bit about what I do, but in case you are new to this blog, let me tell you a little bit about me, my life and my style. My name is Laetitia, I am originally from Paris but I currently live in London. I moved to the UK when I was 25 and never looked back since! I live in the very picturesque area of Portobello/Notting Hill and I spend most of my time writing, taking photographs and styling. I write daily posts on my own site MademoiselleRobot.com as well as here of course! I tweet a lot, instagram a storm (if you like shoes and bags you should be happy there) and I also write for various magazines and online publications... I am more than a little obsessed with animals, have well over 150 pairs of shoes in my overflowing wardrobe and as you can imagine there is also no shortage of MCM bags! I remember MCM from the 90s, especially the wonderful ad featuring Cindy Crawford, who was my ultimate icon at the time... The way she worked those trunks was totally mesmerizing! It is now a real treat to work with MCM and to be able to carry their bags season after season. My current favourite is the Chandelier (which I used during the shoot) but I also am head over heels in love with the Nuovo L in blush pink - so cute! I love my MCM bags because they all combine style and practicality. They are roomy, sturdy and enable me to carry all my blogging paraphernalia wherever I go (sometimes I even carry my cat in them).
The makeover was super fun again this year and I am really pleased with the results... Here are the looks l put together for the occasion:
A Casual Evening
My favourite evening style always has to include jeans! I am a total denim addict, I wear jeans absolutely all the time and I mostly like to dress them up so everyone forgets I am wearing jeans. A tiny bit of subversion never hurt anyone, right? My first look had to include one of my favourite MCM bags of all time - the Chandelier - so beautiful!! Because it is so dressy, I wanted to contrast the rest of my outfit so ripped boyfriend jeans and a cute silk shirt completed the style.
This is what I would wear everyday if the weather in London allowed me to bare my legs! A simple combination of an a-line military inspired skirt, graphic silk top and statement flats... Of course the outfit wouldn't have been the same without my Vintage Visetos tote and its fluoro yellow contrasting panels!
I used to wear a lot of vintage clothing but I am now moving away from it a little as I have an appetite for more contemporary clothing. However, I am still drawn to vintage inspired shapes, as long as they are thoroughly modern or offer some sort of modern take on a retro style. This dress is my current favourite, it is the perfect shape, lovely fabric and combined with vintage Visetos luggage, it takes me to a dreamy place, perhaps Capri, perhaps Monaco... Who knows!
