Since I started writing this blog, there has been many events, displays and collections in honour of the Chinese New Year.
The Chinese Zodiac is a scheme that relates each year to an animal and its attributes. There are 12 signs in the Chinese zodiac, which means the cycle changes every 12 years. The cycle begins with the Rat and then goes on to: Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. Before you embark on new adventures, please hop in the MCM time machine with me and let's go explore times past...
In 2011, we invited ten London bloggers to discover our SS11 collection as well as the Patricia Field and Craig Redman collaborations. We celebrated Lunar New Year in style, with delicious "Pear for the Hare" cocktails and fine Asian inspired canapes.
This was a special year for us as MCM's Chinese Zodiac sign is "Dragon" - the brand was born in 1976. To celebrate this very special year for us, we launched a limited edition Flying Dragon collection (read this post for more info).
To celebrate the Year Of The Snake, we released the Armour Collection, a really bold, unique and individual collection, perfect to celebrate the intelligent and refined Snake.
These envelopes will be handed as gifts with each purchase in our Chinese stores.
2014 marks the Zodiac's Year of the Horse - a time of fast victories & unexpected adventure. For this year, we would like to wish you happiness, prosperity and success, whatever you may do.
