2014 marks the Zodiac's Year of the Horse. Which is all great for me as I was born in 1978, which was also the Year of the Horse... That means I will be paying extra attention to the forecast for the year ahead... But enough about me: we are celebrating all things equine in our windows around the world and I wanted to share our wonderful displays with you.
If you happen to go past one of our windows in Korea, Germany or China, you will be greeted by a Golden Pegasus, majestically looking over our new collection. Pegasus has been a symbol of power and speed as well as imagination, knowledge, glory and inspiration since ancient times. Now, if you remove its wings, it becomes a simple horse...
Let's look at the Horse symbolism as well: in China, it is considered a heroic symbol in China because important battles have been won due to its reliability, loyalty, power and strength. The Horse year is a time of fast victories & unexpected adventure. It's an excellent year for travel, and the farther away from the familiar paths the better. It is also marked by an increase in business and commercial activity, particularly those involved with non-essentials like luxury cars, high fashion, athletics and entertainment. In summary, go wild, travel, see the world and bring back lots of luxurious souvenirs!

An origami/tangram-inspired display in the South Korean capital
In our stores throughout Germany, the Golden Pegasus proudly looks over new collection items.
Last but not least, our Chinese window displays will take your breath away... Even better: the Galeries Lafayette showcased a merry-go-round mixing the Golden Pegasus and the Funky Zebra Collection. See it all below.
The horse is also a symbol of dual natures, which you will see reflected in our two collections this year, you already know SS14 is about a clash of genders, stay tuned to find out what AW14 will be about...
