Right now I am suffering from absolutely terrible Olympian withdrawal symptoms. For someone who is not that into sports, that's quite a feat. Over the past month, I've grown really fond of Team GB and all of its amazing athletes. I've marvelled at their infinite skills, bravery, tenacity and drive. I've laughed, I've cried, I've rooted for them, cheered them on and let out a big happy squeal whenever one of them won a Gold medal. I know I am not the only one, of course - Twitter went mad for the duration of the games, everyone in London, GB and the whole world intensely preoccupied with sportsmanship and its ethics.
Imagine how excited I was when Pete Reed, from the GB Rowing Team boarded our bus with his beautiful German girlfriend Frauke Oltmann and not one but TWO gold medals. Swoons all around! We took them to a boat party hosted by British swimming legend Mark Foster (one of my personal sports crush by the way if you must know everything) in the Docklands area, near Canary Wharf. We parked right next to the boat! For those of you who aren't familiar with the Docklands/Canary Wharf area, it is a business and financial district located East of London, right on the Thames. It is a land of steel and glass, where high rise buildings mix with some quaint little pubs by the water. Absolutely worth visiting!

Pete Reed was born in Seattle in 1981 but promptly came back to live in London. He currently resides in West London. He is a lieutenant in the Royal Navy and finished his Masters in Oxford in 2005 as a Mechanical Engineer. He used to be an Oxford Blue and is now the absolute Olympic champion in the men's four. He has so many medals it is a wonder he could fit them all on the bus! I am truly and completely in awe: 1 Gold Medal in London 2012, 1 Gold Medal in Beijing 2008, 2 Gold Medals and 3 Silver Medals in the World Championships. What an athlete!!
You will see more of Pete in the coming weeks, so stay tuned for interviews, events and more! In the meantime you can follow Pete on twitter (and also MCM!)

Pete has so many medals, he doesn't mind sharing them with our mascot - what a legend!

Pete is also a keen photographer (as you can see on his website). Is there no end to his talents?
