Meet our SS 2013 Ambassador, Robertas Aukstuolis!

As a woman, you don't need much in your life- just the one and everyday companion, your MCM bag! Sounds pretty easy, hmm? Of course, it's not. So we are more than happy to announce that we found our lovely model for our upcoming Spring/Summer campaign 2013, the perfect character for MCM's "Very MCM in Monaco" aesthetic. 

Mister Robertus Aukstuolis has been a model for more than 9 years and has that special certain something: surfer's attitude and a modern meets classic twist - just perfect for the light colours in our scenery and the most beautiful guy next to our beautiful Ambassadress, Hana Jirickova

The strong personality behind our gorgeous Ambassadress, We thought, it might be interesting for you to ask Robertus some questions about his favourite spots in the world, some things he enjoys more than everything and, of course, what he thinks about our luxury brand MCM!

MCM: Let's start with a little introduction for our MCM lovers! Who are you?

Robertus Aukstuolis: Hi, my name is Robertus and I live in London at the moment, but actually I am from Lithuania. It is really nice to be here and I’m loving the sun, because in London we don’t get that. It’s really amazing.

MCM: Our upcoming campaign is all about the topic "sails the sea". Where would you love to sail to? And what makes you feel comfortable?

Robertus Aukstuolis: Probably it would be something like Bali. I like sitting on the beach, just relaxing, surfing and just having a bit of a chilled time. Also maybe a little bit of yoga and meditation. But then, once you do that you just want to be back in the city. Like now, sitting on a boat for a while. I really like the extreme and luxury, but also the hippie time.

MCM: You need to take some breaks sometimes?

Robertus Aukstuolis: Yes, I think you have to. You see, I live in London, a very big city. There are a lot of people and everyone is rushing all the time, so it is good to be on a beach with no people. And then, once you are there you are ready to get back in a city and be busy again.

MCM: We are here in Monaco for MCM's Spring/Summer campaign. Do you like this place?

Robertus Aukstuolis: Yes, I think it is really cool and it’s a good vibe here. I like the surroundings like the mountains and the sea. The only thing I would probably miss is the beach. But I guess it would take only seven minutes in a helicopter so it’s not too far (laughs). Everything is possible here.

MCM: MCM are a German brand with strong roots and an obsession for heritage. What do you think is the secret of MCM?

Robertus Aukstuolis: Yes, I think it is like quality. For example, when you see a German everyone thinks of the quality. It looks really good. Like I said, my mum has a little wallet since 1987 and it still looks good, so it says a lot about the quality. I also think that everything comes back. Like for example the retro thing; lots of brands just come and go. Some other things just stay forever and get cooler and cooler.

MCM: Which might be the perfect place for you and your MCM companion?

Robertus Aukstuolis: I think you have to go to the places like Monaco with a lot of luxury. Then you feel right.

MCM: Are there any parallels between our brand and your person?

Robertus Aukstuolis: That’s the amazing thing - once you put on a nice suit or jacket it makes you feel another person. You start walking differently and sitting differently and you stand straighter. It is nice and that is why I like it. You could say it is a bit like acting. I really love it. Otherwise, being the same person during your whole life is a bit boring I think.

MCM: You've been working as a model for a pretty long time, right?

Robertus Aukstuolis: About nine years.

MCM: Is it still your passion?

Robertus Aukstuolis:Yes, of course. It’s amazing. You know, sometimes models complain. For example in the early mornings or late at night. I can sleep when I am 85, but now I wake up at 6 in the morning and I see this amazing sunrise. The feeling is just amazing. Even this morning it was quite early, but then you hear the sea, you feel the atmosphere and see people waking up in their boats and having breakfast. I love it. Those are great memories.

MCM: Are there any recommendations you like to give our readers?

Robertus Aukstuolis: So, if you want to be cool just buy MCM.
