I am super proud to present to you today my little section of our brand new M Magazine! The first issue is very special as it is all about the Art of the Backpack. You may have already read interviews with my friends and co-ambassadors Sarah Jane and Nike-Jane and now it is my turn... First, let me tell you a little more about my website, MademoiselleRobot.com.
MademoiselleRobot.com is a London based fashion and lifestyle blog showcasing my everyday life and style... The thing is, my everyday life is a bit crazy: I travel a lot, I visit the most amazing hotels and restaurants and I love taking photographs of it all. I started the site in 2007 when fashion blogging was still a little baby and it has grown beyond my expectations! I now have readers on every continent who kindly visit me daily to follow my adventures.
Now have a look at what the Editor of M Magazine has to say about me...
Laetitia is a Parisian living in London with her husband, daughter and a “really silly cat.” She blogs at MademoiselleRobot.com, and writes for the Financial Times and Glamour. If she could wear only one colour, she would choose black, with lots of textures mixed in.
Laetitia believes that your style is a representation of your personality. For her shoot, she took us around Notting Hill, where she lives with her family. The area is known for its Victorian townhouses, and its links to artists and alternative culture.
Q: Describe your style
Style should be an expression of your personality, and should evolve as you do. For this shoot, I wanted to choose two very different styles. Firstly, I went with a casual and easy look. For the second look, I imagined what I’d wear to go to work in an office. I work from home, so the dress code is pretty loose most of the time!
Q: Who’s your style icon?
I love Sofia Coppola, Tilda Swinton and Katharine Hepburn. They all have such classic styles, yet with an air of subversion and individuality.

Q: What’s the most essential item in your backpack?
That would be my iPhone 5. I use it to stay on top of emails and work stuff when I am on the go, which is very often! I also use it as a camera ? I like taking photos and posting them on Instagram as an aide-memoire of what I’ve seen and done.
Q: Do you remember your first backpack?
My first backpack was for school. It was pink and shiny. A big rectangular thing! Quite unsightly actually!
Q: What do you do in your downtime?
Sadly, I don’t have much downtime. When I do have time to spare, the night has fallen and I go to sleep! At the weekends, I play with my daughter, have brunch and catch up on my reading.
Q: What inspired your choice of location?
I am lucky enough to live in one of the most famous and picturesque areas of London: Notting Hill, right by the Portobello Market. So it made sense to shoot there and showcase this lovely area.
