As you know, this year I have relocated to the South West of France for the whole of August. Partly because the weather has been so bad in London and partly because my little girl is starting school this September and I wanted her to have a proper break, away from the big city, the pollution and every day life. While it is all well and good retreating to the country side to work and enjoy a healthier life, I am most definitely a city girl at heart and so if you take me out of my concrete jungle for too long, I tend to miss it. Plus, I was starting to think my lovely Shopper was wasted on the farm animals and needed to be properly shown off in an urban setting.

Capitole and Toulouse streets
Due to the weather (there currently is a crazy heatwave here, with temperatures around 42C in the shade) and my lack of outfit possibilities, I was wearing my "Summer in the country" uniform of denim shorts and a tee-shirt. This time I wore bright green shorts as I liked the colour clash with the blue of my Reversible Shopper. I am so glad I chose to bring with me the Reversible Shopper - I have been playing around with it a lot, turning it inside out to show off the Visetos side, then back the other way for a little more of a statement in blue leopard. I must say carrying this bag has saved many of my Summer looks from being too dull. I love a holiday, but I certainly miss my wardrobe!

This is why last week, I hopped in the car with my daughter to spend the day in Toulouse aka "La Ville Rose" (The Pink City - because of the way the light hits the brick buildings at sunset making them look pink), which is about 1 hour and a half away from my country home. It also happens to be the fourth biggest city in France, after Paris, Lyon and Marseille. I haven't had the chance to experience life in Toulouse, but I've been there a few times and I must say I really enjoy spending time there. It is large enough to offer variety, but still small enough to walk pretty much everywhere. I imagine living La Dolce Vita there, riding around on a cute vintage bike, my MCM shopper in a wicker basket in the front...

Toulouse Streets
