I just got back from a week long trip to Los Angeles, and the only reason I am able to function normally this week is that I flew back with British Airways luxurious Club World. For the purpose of this article, I will tell you a couple of things about myself: I can only sleep in a bed and I like delicious food. Knowing this, you can imagine how long haul flights are not my preferred experience. However, I am head over heels in love with the City of Angels & I also travel a lot for work, so I find myself on long haul flights more often than I care for.
The BA Club World Experience starts as soon as you arrive at the check-in desk and a much coveted "Priority" label is attached to your luggage - this guarantees smooth sailing upon arrival. You then make your way to the Lounge (the ones in Heathrow Terminal 5 are very vast and beautiful, the one in LAX is cosy and will save you from sitting in a very unpleasant boarding gate for two hours - there is nothing to do past security at LAX). In the lounge, you can sit and read magazines while eating a light meal if you plan on sleeping as soon as you get in the plane or simply have a cup of tea and a shower. When your flight is ready to board, you are called to your gate and have priority boarding - another great perk of Club World. I hardly spent any time at my gate, which means I saved myself a lot of stress.

Once on the plane, the true luxury starts. The seats are extremely comfortable - imagine your favourite armchair - and can recline in a flat bed. I wasn't sure I would be able to sleep at first - as I said I am not a good plane sleeper - but I was getting very tired and as soon as dinner was over, I turned my seat into a bed (by simply pressing a button), put on my eye mask and snuggled up under my soft duvet... within minutes, I was asleep. I did wake up a few times during the flight to check our progress, but I kept going back into a deep slumber. I woke up an hour and a half before landing, just in time to put on some fresh clothes, make-up and have a lovely filling breakfast.

Starter - smoked salmon & salmon tartare. Delicious!

Breakfast - healthy and filling.

This is me just as we landed - would you think I spent the night on a plane?
Even though all the essentials are provided to you by British Airways and Elemis on Club World I also like to bring my own moisturiser, lip balm, face wash and all sorts of cleansing wipes. I like to carry them in a chic little MCM pouch (in bright colours to help me find it in my bag!). I also carry passport, boarding pass and phone in a different pouch.
Our travel accessories are the perfect companions for discerning travellers. They are made of high quality leather so they are durable and will travel with you for years and years without letting you down (we've all faced that painful moment when our wallet breaks while on a plane). They are also very stylish without being too conspicuous so you can use them everywhere without fear of them getting stolen - the last thing you want is a flashy passport holder, if it gets stolen, your passport goes too! As they come in different colours, they are suitable for men and women. I prefer the brightly coloured ones (blue or red) as I said earlier because they are easier to find in my bag!
