Grab one of the limited backpacks and take the plane!

As you might know MCM is celebrating its 35th anniversary and for this reason the brand is launching an exclusive backpack project which consists of 35 limited-edition exhibition backpacks. I really love the idea stepping back to the roots, looking back what influenced MCM's designs and bridging the gap between beloved traditional looks and modern influences, between MCM's brand identity and new inspirations. The collection: the travel-inspired backpacks. 

You can expect 35 artistic backpacks who are inspired by our lovely brand's roots and territories - by travel, technology, lifestyle, music, glamour, craftsmanship and global nomadism - including influences of various destinations, different people, the nature and glamorous moments. Each of the themes visually celebrates one of the brand's origins, to remember what was on every bodies mind, when MCM was born. It's quite impossible to name all of MCM's inspiration. So let me just mention the seven topics they've picked to create a beautiful, unique and limited series:

The 35 backpacks are divided into seven themes with five products per category which were presented at Shin Kong Place, Beijing on the 10th of November and are now on their way to Hong Kong where they will be presented at Time Square, on the 1st of December. The sad news for all of us: we can't take them home, 'cause these unique backpacks are one-of-a-kind, beautiful artworks but unfortunately not for sale. So keep updated here not to miss the whole collection!

For this week I will take a closer look at the travel inspired backpacks and during the next six weeks Nike and I will introduce you to all of the other 30 bags which will show you the other six topics - so stay tuned.

When I take a closer look at the travel inspired backpack series I instantly feel like traveling to Italy and especially to Milan. I love the mix of the warm climate, the ever talking people who go around dressed up all posh, the lovely cafes and the old buildings like cathedrals, the Peace Arch or like the Galleria Vittorio Emanuelle II. It's such a traditional city which offers a beautiful modern touch - and if you will travel to that beautiful destination you will feel like dipping in a more beautiful post card. I promise.

And honestly how gorgeous would fit one or the other travel inspired backpack? Because what I love the most about these five products, you can wear it to every outfit you want: casual during daytimes, classy while having lunch or quiet posh in the evening while attending a vernissage or having a drink at a good party?
