MCM Celebrates Chinese New Year with the Armour Collection: Red Edition

The Chinese Zodiac is a scheme that relates each year to an animal and its attributes. There are 12 signs in the Chinese zodiac, which means the cycle changes every 12 years. The cycle begins with the Rat and then goes on to: Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig. The year animals represent how you present yourself (or how others perceive you)...
Last year, we entered the year of the Dragon - which is MCM's sign (the brand was created in 1976). To celebrate, we launched the Flying Dragon collection, which was promoted in store with exclusive visual merchandising displays and artworks.
This year we are moving on to the next sign in the Chinese Zodiac: the Snake. The Snake generally symbolises intelligence, gracefulness and materialism. Snakes like to surround themselves with the finest things life has to offer, which is why we are dedicating our stunning, python-printed Armour Collection RED to the Year of the Snake.
The Armour Collection was inspired by the legendary knights who protected European's royal nobility in Medieval times. Its design derives from their traditional ornately scaled plate armours. The collection's timeless Visetos material also features a unique python pattern on exotic leather, embellished with a sprinkling of gold studs. This is a really bold, unique and individual collection, perfect to celebrate the intelligent and refined Snake.
The Armour Collection includes a variety of accessories such as pouches of varied styles, an interchangeable drawstring-shopper, purses, bracelets and belts expressing a passion for opulence with undertones of grandeur with confidence.
We created special displays and visual merchandising layouts in our stores to celebrate the Year of The Snake. See below for the magical displays created in our Park Life and Shin Kong Place (read here about SKP 1st Anniversary) boutiques.
