Remember yesterday I told you about the event we hosted to celebrate the second anniversary of Shin Kong Place? And also let you in on a little secret about our very special guest... Well now is the time for you to find out who our guest was. I will give you a hint: we get a lot of an eponymous weather condition here in London...
Yes, you guessed it right! Rain came to say hello while on his way to perform at the Asia Entertainer Awards. The more I write about Rain, the more I wish it could rain Rain instead of rain in London. Imagine how wonderful it would be. Just like in the song "It's Raining Men", except it would go "It's Raining Rain". Anyway, I digress, I am sure you want to know everything about our beloved MCM friend.
As soon as he arrived in Beijing, Rain made a beeline for our Shin Kong Place, where he had a little browse, tried on some items from the Fall collection and mingled with our VIP guests.
He then kindly signed a Special Edition backpack (also one of his favourites, because as well as being devilishly handsome, the man has great taste in bags). The store staff was over the moon to be able to display their very own Backpack signed by Rain! These are objects to treasure.
No rest for the wicked though and Rain had to leave the store and be on his way to perform at the 2013 Bazaar Men’s Style Awards during China Fashion Week and was awarded Best Asia Entertainer. During his speech, he thanked Bazaar China and MCM! You can imagine how honoured and happy we were! Now if only he could text me back. A girl can dream, right?
In case you aren't familiar with Rain, here is a bit of info: Jung Ji-Hoon was born in 1982. The world knows him as "Rain", and he is a mega popular South Korean singer, actor, songwriter and dancer. He's also a model, producer and designer - a truly multi talented pop icon! Rain's musical career includes seven albums, 19 singles and numerous concert around the globe. His acting career began in 2003, when he won the KBS Best New Actor Award for his role in the drama "Sang Doo! Let's Go To School". After starring in "A Love To Kill" he acted in his first Korean film, "I'm a Cyborg, But That's OK", which won the Alfred Bauer Prize at the Berlin International Film Festival. His latest movie was released in 2012: "R2B: Return to Base". Having been named Times “100 Most Influential People Who Shape Our World” and People’s list of “Most Beautiful People in The World”, Rain is best known for his show-stopping concerts featuring acoustics, R&B, hip-hop, and high octane dances. He has also starred in several Hollywood movies such as “Speed Racer” and “Ninja Assassin”, the latter leading him to become the first Korean to win an MTV award.
But enough writing, let's have a bit of music to start the weekend!
