MCM Enters Harrods' World of Luxury 28-08-2012: After two months of the most amazing events on our Brand Experience Routemaster, yet another successful blogger makeover, numerous celebrities carrying MCM and an ever expanding number of fans in the U.K. we decided it was time to open up shop in one of the most prestigious department stores in the whole world... You guessed it, MCM are landing in Harrods!

This will be our second store in the U.K. (our Sloane Street Flagship isn't too far) and our first boutique in a larger store in the country. Our corner of paradise will be located on the Lower Ground Floor, next to the well-known Egyptian room, host to the world's fashion wonders... Looks like a new room of wonders is about to flourish! The other surprise is that the store won't look like the MCM stores you've grown accustomed to: we left aside the monochrome interiors to adapt to our new surroundings and so adopted a gold facade that is reminiscent of both the gold in the Harrods logo and our cult brass plates.

Renowned for an unrivalled breadth of offering, Harrods are a quasi-gilded retail palace enveloped with refuges of emerald green, boasting a historic olive-cum-gold aesthetic which has developed an iconic reputation of parallel merit to a tourist destination. I for one can't wait for the grand debut! I've always seen Harrods as a bit of a fashion museum with a side of shopping. I remember coming to London as a tourist when I was younger and wandering the gilded halls with wide eyes, trying to take in all the wonders of the place. Now I imagine a new generation of young tourists and Londoners doing the same and stopping, mouth gaping in front of the MCM boutique...
