I don't know much about football. In fact I have approximately zero interest in it. To give you an idea of my involvement in the world of football, I had a nap during the Final of the World Cup in 1998 when it was hosted in Paris. What I do know about football is that there is a team called QPR aka Queen's Park Rangers. Do you know why? Because my husband won't stop gushing about it. His family is from West London and so he has been supporting the team since he was a tiny little munchkin, barely capable of tying the shoelaces on his football shoes himself.
At the weekend, he proudly announced he was now the owner of a season ticket to QPR - the once small team that made it to the Premier League. I must admit this is a pretty cool feat. But I prefer to focus my energy on handbags and shoes, so I was thrilled to know that Djibril Cisse, fellow Frenchie, European Cup winner AND striker for QPR shares my passion and shops at MCM in his down time.

Cisse began playing football when he was 8 like many other little boys and girls (including my husband) but he obviously had something special as he was poached by AJ Auxerre team aged 15 and then went on to play for Liverpool, Olympique de Marseille, Sunderland and now QPR. He scored a pretty impressive 220 goals in his career so far... as for me, I write this and wonder how many pairs of shoes he owns.
The superstar striker ("A LEGEND!" to quote my husband) visited our Sloane Street store and left with two backpacks and a pair of MCM Trainers. He was wearing a monochromatic outfit including a bar code tee-shirt, black trousers and white trainers which looked great with his trademark tattoo and two-tone beard.
