Throughout November and December, a portion of the proceeds from the sales of selected items in Hong Kong's Central MCM store were donated to Breast Cancer charity "The Registry". Our friends over at MyLifestyleNews (who wrote a lovely feature on the four wheels trolley case) were at the start studded launch event and reported on their blog. You can read the full post here.
The aim of the event - in association with Hong Kong Hereditary Breast Cancer Family Registry aka THE REGISTRY - was of course to carry on the spirit of Awareness month and raise awareness of hereditary cancer (breast and ovarian) as well as support families in need.
A host of local celebrities were present and treated themselves to pink MCM bags, all for a good cause. Our CVO gave a little speech which included this message of hope:
"I believe all women should be free from this disease. We are here to aid in the empowerment of resources for optimism and confidence for a better tomorrow for women around the world".
The chairman of The Registry, Dr Ava Kwong presented some facts and latest findings about the illness and tried to convey the message that illness and cancer should be looked at in a more positive way.
Traduction - En novembre et decembre nous avons organise une operation dans notre boutique de Central HK afin de soutenir la lutte contre le cancer du sein par le biais de l'association The Registry.
