We are pleased to welcome Swiss designer Adrian J. Margelist to the MCM family as Chief Creative Officer. For those of you who have been following MCM for a while, you will know Adrian J. Margelist as our former Global Artistic Director. He occupied the position between 2008 and 2010 and is responsible for the ever lovely Munich Nostalgic collection amongst many others...
This time, he will be looking after MCM's creative direction, overviewing the collections and of course he will be making sure our brand gets more and more recognition the world over. In his own words:
“I’m truly excited to embark on this new chapter with MCM. I had a fantastic journey in 2008 and am enthused for this stage in reaching and achieving greater frontiers. Given the brand’s growing notoriety in Asia, there is an enormous potential in reaching today’s fans and tomorrow’s loyalists. The consumers are growing and it’s important that we grow with them”
Margelist started his career in London, designing accessories for Vivienne Westwood, he then went back to Switzerland and Italy to study some more. With his MA behind him, he started to work with textiles at Fabric Frontline where he designed precious materials to be used in couture shows by labels such as Chanel or Givenchy.
Here is what our Chief Visionary Officer has to say about him:
"His wealth of knowledge, insight & experience within the fashion industry will add significant value and expertise to the team. His new appointment as the Chief Creative Officer is an important step for MCM, as the brand continues its global expansion. We are looking forward to designing the future together."
For all of us, MCM fans, this is great news and I for one am looking very much forward to seeing all the new designs to come out of this renewed collaboration.
