MCM x Young Designers Award 2012...

It's been a quite busy week for Nike and me right now: It's Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Berlin at the moment and we are joggling our timetable not to miss any important events. But there was this one incredible evening we want to share with you guys right now 'cause it was quite thrilling for us: A special highlight as a kick-off to Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, was the presentation of the YOUNG DESIGNERS AWARD at F95 The Fashion Store that honors three talented young designers each season in the categories "womenswear", "menswear" and "accessories" by presenting the designers and their current collections! And guess who supported the outstanding young designers and was the official sponsor: Our lovely brand MCM. The labels "Blame“, "Lamperia“ and "Rita in Palma“ did it very well and received the award for their outstanding designs.
The special highlight for Nike and me:
Finally we could see the exhibition backpacks edition we already introduced to you. It was absolutely amazing to take a closer look at them, discover all the astonishing details and the unbelievable creativity the designers played with.
26 Backpacks were presented and we were just speechless how wonderful they look.
But let's get back to the PREMIUM Young Designers Award 2012: MCM's well-knwon creative director, Michael Michalsky, presented the winners with two backpacks that belong to the beloved Heritage Cognac Visetos Line to let their creativity feel free.
They got this unique chance to create something new and to re-design them in their own way - Another reason to celebrate'cause they will present their results during the upcoming PREMIUM Young Designers Award in June! What a great honor, don't you think?
We are dying to know what they will construct! But don't be afraid - we will keep an eye on it and you won't miss anything!
If you want to take a look at the outstanding exhibition backpacks that celebrate MCM's 35th anniversary, you will get the chance to visit the MCM Styling Lounge here in Berlin which is open till the Berlinale opening. Don't miss it and check them out. It's worth it - so hurry up!
