First Lady Croco Pink Edition - From Workshop to Runway

Once upon a time, in Washington DC (1995), MCM gifted a royal blue handbag to Hilary Clinton: the Hilary bag in one of her favoured hues. Mrs Clinton loved the bag and so since then the series has been known as the ‘First Lady’ collection, now one of our classic lines. Each season, there is a variation on the timeless design. The First Lady comes in many, many colours and is now available in a beautiful croco version. Inspired by the energy of youth, mixed in with a bit of classic style, the First Lady Pink Edition in Croco fuses the best of both worlds: edgy and sophisticated, young and timeless at the same time. You can find out more about the inspiration behind the line here.

Like all of our bags, the First Lady Croco Pink Edition is made by hand (and with L-O-V-E) by our master craftsmen in Germany. They are assembled and tested following a process established a long, long time ago, when the brand started. The years of practice and experience are what makes our bags so special and precious. I had a little dig through the archives and found some lovely photos of our artisans at work. Fun fact: some of them still work for us today!

Once put together, our bags are ready to hit the most important runway ever: the streets! Around the world, fashion lovers have been spotted carrying not only the First Lady but all of our bags and it fills us with pride and joy. To go back to the First Lady Croco Pink Edition, I love how Nike and I styled it differently, but also in a very similar way - perhaps because after many years working together for MCM we are connected somehow :) (hi Nike!).
