MCM Celebrates Shin Kong Place's First Anniversary

Earlier this week, we celebrated the first anniversary of our Shin Kong Place boutique in Beijing. If you've been reading the blog for a while, you will already know what happened at the opening, but for our new friends, here is a little refresher. The Shin Kong store is designed with luxury in mind, and includes a dedicated VIP area (take the tour).
When the store first opened, we built a pop-up gallery at Huamao Square. Our Das Ist exhibition showcased MCM's rich heritage (Visetos, traditional craftsmanship, travel collections) as well as our modern lines. Inside the gallery, guests were greeted by a reproduction of Germany's prestigious Brandenburg Gate covered in the MCM monogram.The first anniversary of our store coincided with the first anniversary of the already legendary Shin Kong Place shopping centre in Beijing. Many things happened on the night, including the opening of our awaited "Munich Wildlife" exhibition and the launch of the Shin Kong Place Leo Chandelier, an exclusive creation to honour this wonderful location. The exhibition celebrates the Munich Lion (Munich is the birthplace of MCM) and wildlife.

For the occasion, our windows were dressed with our Munich Wildlife campaign in mind, starring of course the newly launched SKP limited edition collection and a selection of RTW pieces. The leopard print background matched perfectly our exhibition (and campaign) theme.
Many of our friends and fans came to visit on the night. They were greeted with canapes on MCM leopard print trays, sipped some champagne and got to have first look at the exhibition and mingle with celebrities and VIPs.
In the crowd, we spotted pop diva Laure Shang wearing a super sparkly sequin dress. She is a trendsetter in the Chinese musical scene and her attitude is truly inspiring. Her presence at the store caused quite a stir in the mall!
Also spotted at the SKP Party was multiple Cannes Best Actor nominee Qin Hao, wearing head to toe MCM. He posed with our beautiful models.
