Jackie Onassis is the ultimate style icon - which is why she is the first in this new feature. Her style was based on classic shapes with a youthful vibe, preppy with a twist and always amazingly put together. When thinking about Jackie O.'s style, everyone immediately sees big sunglasses, pillbox hats, Chanel suits and ladylike handbags... But there is more to her.
The most appealing part of Jackie O's style is her casual attire. She had a je ne sais quoi that could make any plain, everyday outfit look elegant. This is something to try and emulate, this is something that can translate in the present as well, in a time where suits with matching hats seem to be just quirk of the past.
Her fuss-free grace and understated chic to me embody perfectly the spirit of MCM.
