Exciting times ahead: some of our SS14 products were recently featured in editorials in Cholsun Ilbo and The Star, as worn by Korean superstars Ji-Hye Han and Hye-Jin Park. It doesn't get better than this really... I am sure all our fans and friends in South Korea are already familiar with these names and titles, but for our other friends in the rest of the world, here is a little bit of information about everything...
The Chosun Ilbo is one of the major newspapers in South Korea. With a daily circulation of over 2,200,000, the Chosun Ilbo has undertaken annual inspections since Audit Bureau of Circulations was established in 1993. Chosun Ilbo and its subsidiary company, Digital Chosun operates the Chosun.com news website, which also publishes web versions of the newspaper in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
The Star is a weekly Entertainment & Celebrity News Magazine owned by Chosun Ilbo.
Are you still following? Yes? Good! Now let me tell you more: Ji-Hye Han was featured in Cholsun Ilbo's style section and Hye-Jin Park was featured in The Star.
Ji-Hye Han is a South Korean actress, model, shoe designer and writer, best known for her roles in May Queen and Pots of Gold.
Hae-Jin Park is a South Korean actor best known for his roles in One Night & Two Days or You Came From The Stars.
I love this editorial with Hae-Jin Park as it perfectly demonstrates how our Flower Boys in Paradise SS14 collection is perfectly unisex and versatile. Here you have Park modelling many bags from the collection in as many styles, and looks dashing while doing so. Sporty, business style, nautical or colourful there is no stopping the young actor!
Why am I telling you all this? Well simply because White Day is fast approaching and it is time to pick some gifts for your other half! Read below for some information about White Day...
In Japan, Valentine's Day is typically observed by girls and women presenting chocolate gifts (either store-bought or handmade), usually to boys or men, as an expression of love, courtesy, or social obligation. Handmade chocolate is usually preferred by the recipient because of the perception of sincerity, effort, and emotion put into a home-made confection. On White Day, the reverse happens: men who received a honmei-choco or giri-choco on Valentine's Day are expected to return the favor by giving gifts. Traditionally, popular White Day gifts are cookies, jewelry, white chocolate, white lingerie, and marshmallows. Sometimes the term literally, sanbai gaeshi is used to describe the generally recited rule that the return gift should be two to three times the worth of the Valentine's gift.
