Studio Munchen: Celebrity Stylights

On November 15th, we opened our very first Pop-Up Studio in Munich, the city where it all started: the birthplace of MCM.  As a re-establishment our roots, we toasted to our home town and celebrated our wonderful and highlight successful  collaboration class-act with pop-artists Craig & Karl

The MCM Studio is located in the very heart of the city and styled in Craig & Karl's signature aesthetics. MCM occupies a prime position in the luxury shopping district of Max-Joseph Plaza, surrounded by some of the world's leading designer labels.  The studio will be open until the end of May 2014.

I already told you all about the Opening Event, now it is time to introduce you to some of our VIP guests, starting with the people who provided the very ambiance of the evening, the amazing...

Kill The Tills’ success story is rooted in their joy in clubbing, their love for music and art, and their desire to shake up the relatively motionless cultural life in Munich. Today, five years later, Amedee and Milen Till are a synonym for a new subculture in Munich - a subculture where a creative melting pot has developed beyond deadlocked categories. The rakish brothers cannot be nailed down: Like artistes they are juggling with their ideas so freely that any attempt to describe their work must fail. Nonetheless, giving it a shot, one might say, they live as DJs, promoters and video producers (Gomma, Terra Nova Records) between Paris, Berlin and Munich. Still, this only draws one part of the picture. Apart from their indefinable, ecstatic music selection, Kill The Tills are especially known for surprising concepts such as "Nachts wenn der Autor kommt". Their performances and themselves are now widely known because they returned a long lost feeling of freedom to Munich.

Another important aspect of the evening was of course the delicious food. For this we cooperated with a strong catering partner:  STEFAN MARQUARD aka the Rock Chef from TV show "Who wants it“. He prepared treats with evocative names that reflect the spirit and energy of MCM: Sparkle on the Rocks, Tasmanian Beast Fire, Cracker Gamba, Crunchy Sushi Thuna, The Love Beef Burger, Red Lip Cake “@ von Schleck“ with Creme Brulee and cinnamon mousse...

Marquard started working as a chef in 1981 after training as a butcher and an apprenticeship as a cook at the "Hotel Rebstock" in Wurzburg. After the final examination, he gained professional experience in the then top restaurant "Grey House" in Oestrich and at the inn Rottner in Nuremberg. He was also chef at the "Taverna la Vigna" in the Swiss Stuben in Wertheim-Meiningen, where his cooking has been awarded the "Best Italian Food" in Germany.

His own restaurant, the "Three bars" in Meersburg opened in 1991. This owned him a place in the Gault Millaut as well as "Innovation of the Year 2000 "and a  Michelin Star. From 2001 to 2003 Stefan Marquard took over the culinary direction of the "Lenbachplatz" in MunichAfter many years of experience in the catering his current focus is on training, consulting and building concepts (kitchen design, kitchen team training, team motivation) around the food service area, from product development to cooking shows .
