All eyes are on MCM at the moment thanks to our genius collaboration with Craig & Karl that's been taking the fashion world by storm. Last week, we held a media round table at Harrods where the super duo was interviewed by top local publications Grazia and The Telegraph. Today, I would like to share these interviews with you, to give you an insight into the makings of an already cult collaboration.
The lovely Craig & Karl at Harrods
Craig & Karl spoke to the lovely Naomi Attwood from Grazia UK about their creative process, the inspiration behind the collection and how it feels like to work as a duo while separated by a gigantic ocean... Have a look below from some quotes and you will find the link to the full interview below.
"Cool German luggage makers MCM hit up even cooler pop art duo Craig & Karl for a genius Spring/Summer 2013 collaboration, bringing art and fashion together in a wonderful mash-up of eyeballs, monograms and palm trees. How could you not like this already?"
"Who they’d most like to see carrying one of the eyeball bags. . .
Craig; ‘Tinie Tempah looked pretty good carrying his, I’d say’
Karl ‘I don’t know who I’d like to see carrying one. Someone really cool I guess, and fashion credible ? [stylist and fashion editor] Fran Burns?’"

Craig & Karl also spoke to Ellie Pithers from national daily paper The Telegraph. Again, they discussed the difficulties of working together while so far away, their favourite artists and of course, the lovely Eyes on the Horizon collaboration.
Which artists are you into at the moment?
Craig: My favourite artist is Urs Fischer. He's based in New York, I think he's Swiss originally. He's my number one. I saw a really good Andrew Kuo show in Chelsea recently. David Benjamin Sherry is great as well. And Richard Woods is a favourite.
Karl: I like an American painter Jonas Wood. I saw a show by Tara Donovan, who's an installation artist, in Copenhagen a couple of weeks ago and it was just amazing.

How long has this collaboration with MCM been in the pipeline?
Craig: We did a collaboration with MCM two years ago, so this is our second collection. We've been working on it for six months. This is for spring/summer, so we wanted to do something fun and we definitely wanted to work with the monogram.
Karl: It's really cool doing something that's so Pop and current over something so traditional.
The Shanghai Collection
What's your favourite piece from the collection?
Craig: This pouch is amazing. It looks small but it fits a laptop. I think the proportions make it work well.
Karl: And we love the document case too, the lime green one. This leather is amazing, and they have used a new kind of digital printing to eliminate the tedious processes of screen-printing.
