In our behind-the-scenes coverage, we noted that it has been a bit of a tradition for our team to give back a little bit of the love our friends and followers share with us everyday right back to them. Our "Blogger Makeovers" celebrate the most stylish taste makers from around the world, paying homage to the global-glitterati and MCM's latest collections.
Christian Dietrich, a brilliant photographer was on the scene with a team of two hair and make up extraordinaries to create the perfect looks. Hosting the event was the gorgeous Sarah Bauknecht of Sandra's Closet, who invited her favourite Swiss blogger sheroes to get complete makeovers in highlighting their fabulous personalities.
Somehow we felt like little Cinderella's again, when we enjoyed our princess-like days in the circle of our best friends, listening to great music, trying on some fancy clothes and creating pretty looks that made us feel like we were wearing imaginary little crowns! Well, that's actually just how it turned out to be - just a whole lot more glamorous!
We had hors d'oeuvres delights, tons of fun and the opportunity to see these beautiful blogging ladies turning into top-models. Today we're pleased to present the final photos of our very first Blogger Makeover Photo shoot in Zurich!
Watch out, you might not only fall in love with these leading-ladies,of style but also with every MCM piece they selected for their MCM- Makeovers!
Introducing our lovely hostess en-Suisse, Sandra! She's got a true passion-for-fashion: the founder of Sandra's Closet studied fashion design and also worked as an editor for Marie Claire magazine, she's a stylist, and one of Switzerland's top-bloggers! A self-made fashionista, Sandra is "constantly editing and looking for the perfect pieces, picking out the most important accessories and clothing."
Vist her site, Sandra's Closet to get insider tips, get a little fashion history and most important be up-to-date. (You might even find some finds before they appear in the fashion 'mags and hit the stores. On the other side you will also get an insight into Sandra's personal styling ideas with vintage and new pieces, and of course meet new designers.
Here you can see Miss Bauknecht looking absolutely stunning, matching a mix of bohemian chic and Cote d'Azur-like elegance with MCM's luxurious Travel Collection. Afterwards she went for the Little Veronika Visetos Medium Satchel with blue detailing and styled it with an on-trend silk-ensemble that evokes deep blue sea reveries and holiday-moments in paradise. Very well done, Sarah!
For Spring / Summer '13, the White Visetos design makes a comeback - it's the perfect tone for the Summer and reflects our past-meets-present-with-a-twist signature aesthetic. Light colours are the perfect souvenir for the Summer and we've added some fresh detailing: Strong blue! Sandra harmonises the Little Veronika Visetos' cobalt-blanche structured aesthetics with a breezy silhouette, balancing the handbag's sculptural design with a breezy silk scarf featuring a light floral motif. The deep blues and earth tones balance the colour palette styled with Veronika to perfection!
Meet the beautiful lady behind Fashion Fraction: Michele K., a fashion blogger based in beautiful little Switzerland. Years ago she launched her site, which has reached new levels over time, emerging as one of the Switzerland's top blogs! High class photographs punctuate her outstanding sense for elegant style combinations - during our photo shoot we fell in love with this natural beauty and are still wondering whether her second job description probably should be "top-model"? You go , girl!
For our shooting she challenged classically elegant aesthetics, choosing a fire-red ensemble paired with high heels for an all-round outfit of head-to-toe perfection. Michele styled herself in a Paris-meets-New York-meets-business-lady with a twist! At daytime you can picture this lovely fashionista taking a walk through the city combining our sunny Shopper Project with stylish Spring-essentials such as floral-print skirts paired with neutrals and brights - just like this look:
Our Shopper Project makes a comeback in Zurich this season, flaunting exotic new prints with novel materials and colour combinations, featuring pastel-esque hues & refined tones. Built for multi-functionality, the latest collection is reversible and features an interior pouch which can be worn as a clutch. Ready to become a shopper-a-holic? We sure are, and so is Michele!
Chic-and-schlau.ch (or clever & chic, as we would say) was founded in 2008 by the 22-year-old Zurich-based Mirjam Herms. Chic and Schlau is a true lifestyle blog and online magazine (blog-zine, shall we say?) - that's why we invited this stylish power-blogging fashionista to this year's Makeover project: introducing contributor editor Marie-Joelle Eschmann! Chic-and-schlau.ch reports on trends, new collections, beauty, travel destinations and gossip. The personal perspective is never lost and honest opinions are their obligation! We love you, girls!
Less is more! Black-basic elegance couldn't look better, Marie-Joelle! The way this young lady combines her favourite, eye-catching MCM pieces to her sleek silhouette makes us realise that sometimes it's all about details. Pairing the colour of her blouse to the hue of her handbag or even rocking some colour-blocking dopeness by styling the First Lady Boston to a monochrome floral aesthetic is totally on top of fashion. In her style-meets-sophistication photo shoot, Mirjam becomes the MCM First Lady of style!
The First Lady Boston is the star of the moment and the lovely Pink Edition took the chic & schlau centre-stage. It's feminine, fresh, but above all practical without compromise in sophistication. The capacious handbag companion flaunts a bevy of different pockets and compartments which can accommodate a gamut of technological paraphernalia while remaining of course, the most stylish lady - that's why Mirjam chose this schlau (clever) companion! In her day-to-evening, boardroom-to-the-ballroom look, Mirjam balances the pop of pink with the famed little black stress. Pink is a bright tone that can sometimes overwhelm, however the dress's length tames the pink-pair to perfection, making her MCM style a head-turner guaranteed to inspire onlookers with envy.
BOOTIES ON MY FEET:
Miss Gray from "booties on my feet" somehow is our personal Carrie. Wait... she's even better! This super woman from Zurich is a visual artist, a fashion lover and shoe addict. She knows how to wear it right and combines crazy clothes in the most elegant styles by relying on her personal taste and matching it with the latest trends. Booties On My Feet is a blog you don't want to miss!
The moment we met the mastermind behind Booties on my Feet - the one and only Miss Grey - we immediately fell in love! Her bold personality and strong look is the perfect match for an eye-catching backpack such as this studded SS13 Stark. Miss Grey styled herself with a monochromatic aesthetic with sophisticated and fashionable detailing, becoming the perfect match for the deep blue it-piece. The oversized hoodie adds a sporty touch that gets refreshed by grungy highlights. For the real-lady feeling she also adds some high heels - Nothing more to say than: WOW!
Black is the perfect canvas for strongly-coloured bags - this is how Miss Grey does it:
The tambourine bag is one of our classic shapes. Hand crafted in an assortment of styles & prints and they all have something in common: they are small accessories that make large style-statements! Miss Grey cleverly styles our SS13 First Lady Tambourine by highlighting its vibrant brightness by pairing it with strong noir- inspired contrasts, making the tambourine her stand out it-piece through a pop of colour. I love the tambourine bag because it always get people talking. I have the Shanghai Collection Edition and its tassel detailing with the characteristic anchor charm and print design never fail to mesmerise strangers.
I hope you enjoyed our little Makeover-experience as much as we did! Get inspired and - of course - try it at home!
Lots of Love,
